I know it’s been awhile since I posted anything new. I have been getting things going with my band, The Great Outdoors. We had a few member changes and now I think we are settled in.

Of all the books on songwriting I have read over the years, one stands out as my bible. I go back to this book anytime I begin to feel the nagging feeling of a slump coming on. Tunesmith, by Jimmy Webb is a must read for any writer new to the craft. It is a great reference for any writer period.

Today we give thanks for all the blessings in our lives. It is a day of reflection and family. As the day winds down, I am thinking of all the different songs that can come out of reflection like this (I am always working). How many ideas here are shared with millions of people in the same situation.

They say two heads are better than one. A new perspective is almost always a plus… Co-writing can be the creative tool that kicks in the muse.
